Day 14

After Sheldon got home from work we headed to Harry Potter. Jace did great for about half the movie and the second half he was pretty restless. Sheldon was nice enough to let me enjoy the movie and he took Jace out into the hallway so he could run around. I really liked the movie and I'm excited for the second part to come out. It made me want to read the book again. We were going to go to the Hard Rock for dinner to celebrate our anniversary but we felt bad making Jace sit down for another long extended amount of time so we headed to McDonald's in search of a play land.

I bought Jace this turtle tube for the beach. He likes to put in on the couch and sit it in. He tries to take other toys with him so that he can sit in it and play. He's just started wanting to haul his toys everywhere with him and if he has too many he gets upset that he can't move them all at once. It's pretty cute.

Day 15

While our turkey was cooking we headed to Makalei Beach. We stayed for a few hours and had a great time. It's just a little beach off Diamond Head Road and it was pretty secluded.

We had a really yummy Thanksgiving that we all enjoyed. It's weird to celebrate Thanksgiving when it was so hot outside. It doesn't really feel like winter to me since we are in shorts still and have to have the fan on 24/7. Don't worry we're just drinking cream sodas. :)

Day 16

Sheldon studied all day and Jace and I went to Magic Island again and had fun swimming at the Ala Moana Beach. I didn't take any pictures since I was busy chasing Jace around.

Day 17

We headed to the North Shore to check out Turtle Bay. We had a great time swimming in the bay and had fun walking around the resort. We're going to go back and stay a little longer next time since we were only there for a few hours.

Day 18

We actually were able to attend our REAL ward and have a normal Sunday again. We all really enjoyed our long weekend together and it was nice Sheldon had so much time off even though he was busy studying for his upcoming board exam for the bulk of the weekend.
Here's our soon to be 18 month old. Next week he goes to nursery for the first time. I bought Jace a kid snorkel mask because Jace would start crying when he saw our real snorkel set because he wanted to play with it so bad. So I bought him his own set that he likes to play with and it has eliminated his fits at the beach because now he has his very own mask. It only cost $4 at Wal-mart so I don't feel too bad buying something that Jace won't even wear.
In case you were wondering....we are going to be in Hawaii for 97 days and I'm going to try to post about each day so I can remember our time here....so enjoy...I know I will. :)

Day 13

I took Jace to the Children's Discovery Center. It was about a three mile jog from our apartment. Jace had a lot of fun doing all the little activities. I think he liked the toy train the best. Afterwards we walked over to the Ala Moana Beach for a swim. Sheldon picked us up when he got off of work so we wouldn't have to walk back home. We were supposed to go out to celebrate our 8 year anniversary but Jace and I were so tired I decided to take a rain check for the next day. Overall it was a fun day!

Day 12

We hiked up to Manoa Falls that is only about 10 minutes from our apartment. It is a 1 1/2 mile hike to the waterfall that was really very beautiful. The TV show Lost was filmed here for a few scenes. We couldn't take the stroller so Sheldon carried Jace the whole way. I'm glad we did the hike but not too glad about all the mosquito bites we got.

Day 11

Here's Jace trying on his rain boots I got for him. There are lots of puddles here when it rains so I have a feeling we will be using these often!

Jace and his dad wore some of the matching ties I made to church. I had to take pictures because I think it's so cute! When we got to church we found out it was cancelled and they were re-broadcasting the Laie Temple dedication throughout the day instead. We didn't get the tickets ahead of time so we weren't able to attend. It was another Sunday of getting all ready and not being able to go to our ward. Oh well we will try again next week. Only one more Sunday until Jace starts going to nursery.

Day 10

We decided to spend the day at Shark's Cove again. Jace loves the little tide pools and Sheldon and I can take turns snorkeling so we all really enjoy going there.

Jace loves this little bike. He's not quite sure how to get around on it though because his feet are to high off the ground to push and he can't peddle yet so he likes to sit on it and watch a show now and then.
When we got to Shark's Cove we saw a Monk Seal on the beach. The signs said stay away and don't touch them so we just got close enough to snap this picture.
Jace really likes playing with the snorkeling gear.

He is also drinking milk only out of a sippy cup now. His bottle broke a few days ago so he's only using his cup. So far it's been really easy for him to adjust. I think he's done with a bottle for good now and he doesn't take pacifiers either anymore.
Sheldon took Jace out into the deeper tide pools so we put a life jacket on him. I took him out there too while Sheldon was snorkeling.

Jace went over to these rocks and played for awhile by himself. Every time we looked at him and he saw us looking he would give us dirty looks. I guess he wanted some alone time. He's never done that before.
