Yearbook Yourself

1950's
1960's 1960's 1970's
I have been looking at other people's blogs and a lot of people have gone to http://www.yearbookyourself.com/ and posted the pictures of themselves. So I thought I would do the same thing. It's really funny.

Portland

Last weekend we were invited by two couples in our ward to go on their ski boat for a ride on the Willamete River and out to dinner. We went with three couples and started in Portland and rode on the boat all the way to Oregon City. Then we docked at a fish house and ate dinner. It was such a fun date night and way fun to see

Adoption 101

So, for those of you who don't know Sheldon and I are working with the LDS Family Services to go through the adoption process. We started way back last spring going through the process and we are still going through the process. First, we had to meet with our caseworker twice in a town that is about 45 minutes away and fill out a whole bunch of paperwork that took mega too many hours to complete. Then, on Monday, our caseworker is coming to our house for our homestudy. After that, which will be our third meeting, we have to meet for a fourth time for individual interviews and we also have to work on getting our online profile up and running. But, I am so excited! I am so excited because this is a process that has taken a long time, not just since this spring, but a long time to come to the decision to adopt after 5 years of infertility and struggling with what to do. I am also excited because this is bringing us one step closer to becoming parents. It has been hard watching my sisters, friends, and girls younger than me have babies and get to be moms. But I am so happy and at peace with the fact that our family will come together in a different way and that Heavenly Father has a plan for our family. I can't wait for our profile to finally be online. I have been reading other couples' profiles on itsaboutlove.org and we are going to be on there soon. Yeah for the Olsens!

A Fun Saturday!

Sheldon and I had so much fun today! First we went to the Rose Garden in Portland. I took pictures of some of my favorite roses. Then we went across the Columbia to Vancouver, Washington and walked along the river. We also saw Fort Vancouver. We really did have a great time and we are continually amazed by how beautiful it is here in the Northwest.

New Decorations!

I have some new decorations that I love in our house. I bought two new signs, one that says always say a prayer overlapping ASAP and one that says Choose the Right overlapping the word CTR. I bought the coolest decoration at rod works that has vinyl writing and a cool rod hook. I love rod works and wish I could spend more money there! I also painted my black Faith sign white. One project that I just worked on today was making some new throw pillows. Since I know nothing about sewing I enlisted the help of my friend Char. She helped me pick out material at the fabric store and sew the pillows. She is awesome for doing this and totally rocks with her sewing skills. I helped a little bit and even sewed one pillow. I was kind of nervous but it turned out great. Thanks Char for your help! I love my new pillows!
The colors I have been decorating my living room with are burgendy, rustic orange, and sage. green. I sewed the long paisely one! My first attempt with a sewing machine!
