My Sisters

I was just online looking at some pictures that my sisters have posted and I thought I it would be fun to write a post with their super cute pictures in it. I love my sisters! I wish I could live closer to them so we could spend more time together. I guess I am just a little home sick for them after our vacation this summer. I miss you and love you!

A Fun Weekend

It has been so hot lately that Sheldon and I have been trying to think of things to do to get out of this heat. It has been over 100 degrees with high humidity and its been pretty unbearable considering we don't have air conditioning. So on Friday we went to "Stub" Stewart State Park and went camping. The cool thing about this state park in that it is only about 20 minutes away from our house. There are so many hiking trails and the park is beautiful. We had to hike a 1/4 of a mile into our camping spot uphill and we weren't really prepared to do that. We forgot a flashlight and we didn't even make it into the park until it was almost dark so Sheldon and I were trying to haul all our stuff to our camping spot in the dark. It was pretty humorous and I had to haul the cooler up the hill! The cooler had wheels, but on a dirt road it's pretty much like pulling the cooler all the way and not really rolling it. But, after the craziness of hiking into our camping spot with all our gear and getting everything situated we had a lot of fun. We got up early Saturday morning and went hiking to a creek and we just had fun exploring the park. We are definitely going to go back and next time pack our bags a little lighter and not bring a huge cooler. I think it's awesome there is such a beautiful place to camp so close to our house.
We didn't take any pictures. The camera was one thing that got left in the car but I have some pictures I found of the web that show how beautiful the park is. And here's a link to the park if anyone is interested in finding out more about it.

Air Show

Sheldon and I went to the Air Show in Hillsboro last Saturday. We saw lots of planes/jets/helicopters in the air and some on land that we could look at more closely. The jets were so loud and one even broke the sound barrier and made a huge boom that shook the buildings we were next to and made car alarms go off. It was awesome!

Sheldon getting ready to sky dive-well not really-but you get the picture!
There were army dudes jumping out of the airplanes and doing all sorts of cool tricks on their way down.

I even wore my pretned army hat in honor of our trip to the air show. We had a blast!

Breaking Dawn

My friend Char and I were total dorks and decided to go to the Border's Book Store on Friday night for the release of Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. We both made t-shirts that turned out pretty awesome I might add. We saw lots of people dressed up in Twilight characters and Char almost won the t-shirt contest they had. My t-shirt said, "I'm in the Twilight zone" and Char's said, "Can someone feed my child, I'm reading Twilight." The back said "Team Cullen" because of course we were both for Edward winning the whole love triangle thing between Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
When we got there they gave us colored bracelets and we could only line up when they called our color. So around 12:30 a.m we were finally allowed to line up to buy the book. We took pictures of us when we finally got the book and we didn't even get home until around 1:30 a.m. I stayed up all night reading of course and finished it on Saturday. I must say the book had some twists that I was totally surprised by and I really enjoyed reading it. It's fun to act like a teenager and just do something crazy/silly now and again.
We saw some people for our ward at the release that night. The girl in the prom dress was Bella at her prom injured and all and the one girl with the black shirt and red ribbon was the cover of Eclipse. Cassidy's shirt said something like, "Edward prefers brunette's" and her mom Robyn's shirt said "Twilight Mom's." I guess there's a group online for mom's who like Twilight. Megan and Brooke were also there to get their own copies. I know Cassidy, Megan, and Brooke because they are young women in our ward. Seeing them definately added to the fun. Here's my awesome t-shirt and you can kind of see the line of people behind me waiting for 12:00 to buy the book. Char also had an awesome t-shirt. We both earned buttons that said, "I was bitten by Breaking Dawn," because we were in the t-shirt competition. The line Here's the reason I was out at 1 in the morning. My own copy of Breaking Dawn right after it was released. Does Char seem a little bit more excited than me? Maybe, but not really. We were both cheesing it up a lot that night and totally got into the whole Twilight thing. It's fun to have a friend like Char that I can be a dork with.
