We're going to be parents!

Hi everyone! We have been chosen to adopt a baby boy due June 8th. We are so thrilled and excited. Our prayers have been answered and the sweetest, most self-less birth mother is giving us this opportunity. We are so ready to be parents and have this life changing event happen. We are so blessed!

White Coat Ceremony Class of 2011

Sheldon is officially half way done with his optometry school. He is now able to work in the clinic with real patients! His class took part in a White Coat Ceremony where they took an oath pledging to provide quality patient care. I was really proud of Sheldon! He already had his first patient in the clinic on Thursday! Sheldon is going to be a great eye doctor! I am so excited for his future profession!

Sheldon thought it would be fun to get the limo from the Proctor's in our ward and take out some of our opt friends after the ceremony. We went to Outback and we didn't get home until around 11. That was a late school night for me (I fell asleep on the way home).

One other note-I was doing the laundry today and when I pulled the clothes out of the dryer a contact lens case fell out of the clothes pile onto the floor. I was laughing because I thought that would probably only happen to a wife of an optometry student.
Here's my future eye doctor. I love you! All of his classmates received a white coat to wear in the clinic. It's embroidered and says his name.

With full deliberation I freely and solemnly pledge that:

I will practice the art and science of optometry faithfully and conscientiously, and the the fullest scope of my competence.

I will uphold and honorably promote by example and action the highest standards, ethics and ideals of my chosen profession and the honor of the degree, Doctor of Optometry.

I will provide professional care for those who seek my services, with concern, with compassion and with due regard for their human rights and dignity.

I will place the treatment of those who seek my care above personal gains and strive to see that none shall lack for proper care.

I will hold as privileged and inviolable all information entrusted to me in confidence by my patients.

I will advise my patients fully and honestly of all which may serve to restore, maintain or enhance their visions and general health.

I will strive continuously to broaden my knowledge and skills so that my patients may benefit from all new and efficacious means to enhance the care of human vision.

I will share information cordially and unselfishly with my fellow optometrists and other professionals for the benefit of patients and the advancement of human knowledge and welfare.

I will do my utmost to serve my community, my country and humankind as a citizen as well as an optometrist.

I hereby commit myself to be steadfast in the performance of this my solemn oath and obligation.

Sheldon and Garrett are always doing something crazy. Garrett and Sheldon have spent a lot of time studying together over the last two years. They have become really good friends.
