Our Big Boy
Whenever I brush my teeth Jace needs his toothbrush too.

Whenever we go to the store Jace always wants a balloon and when I do get him one he carts it around everywhere. He LOVES balloons and points them out anytime he sees them.

He's learned to push himself on a little tricycle (the kind without any peddles).
Sometime when he is really tired he just lays down on the floor and falls asleep.
He really is growing up so fast. He's also started to eat cereal with a bowl and spoon. I need to get a picture of that. I can't believe my little baby isn't a little baby anymore. It happened so fast. We love our big boy!!

Jace's New Hair Cut
Sheldon said it was time to cut Jace's hair and I agreed it was getting a little too long. So...Sheldon brought out the clippers and after he started I realized he didn't put a guard on the clippers and that means Jace would have a buzz cut. I couldn't believe he did that without telling me...probably because Sheldon knew I would say no. Afterwards Sheldon said he did tell me but I guess I didn't hear him. Anyhow, Jace would only let him do a little bit at a time so this is how he looked for a while until he would sit still enough to continue with the hair cut.

Jace tripped and fell into the side of the fireplace a few weeks ago and got a pretty good size bump in between his eyebrows. Poor kid.
Sheldon thought it was funny to shave off the top and leave the sides making him look like an old bald man.

Here's the finished results. I definitely like his hair a little longer than a buzz so next time I will be on the defensive when Sheldon brings out the clippers. Either way though he is one pretty adorable little boy!!

15 Months
This past month has been a big adjustment period for Jace. We moved out of our house and have pretty much been switching where we are staying every few weeks. We stayed at Garrett's house for two weeks, then we moved to Heidi's house, then we went to Santa Cruz for a week, then back to Heidi's house, then to Idaho for the weekend, then back to Heidi's house, and then to Salt Lake for the weekend. So needless to say our little guy has been adjusting to all the change. He's getting used to sleeping in new places and is sleeping and napping much better now. The other day I was trying to postpone his nap time a little bit to get something done and he just laid down on the floor and fell asleep. I guess he knows to stick to his schedule even if I don't! He loves playing with his cousins and all the fun new toys at Heidi's house. He is also getting used to sharing and playing with other kids. I think it's been hard for Jace since he has never had to share before. But he's getting better and better at it. :) He points and cries at things we wants and is getting very good at getting his message across even though he doesn't have to say anything. He is walking much better now and sometimes does a slow run. He loves it when he walks down hill because it makes him walk faster. After he goes down a hill he will go back up and do it over and over again or he will climb a curb or step over and over again. He still loves climbing and will climb on anything that is at his height that he can pull himself up on. He loves toy cars and makes the little car noise when he plays with them. He started having issues with the bath this month and would cry and cry as soon as we put him in the tub. Just in the past weeks he has started enjoying baths again. He LOVES balloons and has started throwing huge fits in the grocery store if he sees a balloon and I don't let him hold one. Jace has also become very interested in crayons, stickers, and sidewalk chalk but has to be monitored with them because he likes to eat them!! He gets very upset when I put him in the car seat, stroller, bike seat, or grocery cart because he would rather be walking around touching everything. He just wants to walk everywhere and explore everything! He constantly wants to be outside and will go by the door and cry and point because he wants me to take him outside. He really does know how to get what he wants. :) Jace has become very interested in straws and cries and cries for them when we go out to eat. He wants to hold his own cup and drink out of the straw by himself. He loves pushing things and really likes his cousin's toy lawn mower. He pushes it everywhere. He's had a lot of fun this summer playing in the different water spray parks I've taken him to and he really loves swimming. He also loves going to the park and going down the slides. He isn't that into the swings but would rather climb the play structures and go down the slides or throw bark chips. He loves to cuddle when he is tired and is VERY attached to his blanket. He wants to take it everywhere. He also loves climbing in and out of little kid chairs or off and on the couch. I finally bought him his own little chair since he loves it so much. I also bought him his own backpack. Since we've been at Heidi's house he was really interested in the backpacks and kid's chairs they have. So of course Jace had to have his own to avoid sharing issues. It's been a fun month full of lots of change for our family and our little Jace sure handled it like a champ. We love you baby Jace!! (All Jace's cousins here in Utah call him that)

Labor Day Weekend
My parents came to Utah for the three day weekend over Labor Day. We had so much fun exploring Salt Lake. We stayed at the Hilton for the weekend and had a great time. Friday before my parents came Sheldon and I had a picnic at Liberty Park and let Jace enjoy the play structure and water fountains. We also headed over to the Aviary and he loved seeing the birds. That night we went swimming in the hotel and also went over to the Gateway Mall. Sheldon and Jace had fun playing in the water fountain.
Jace kept drinking the water from the spray fountain. I was laughing but was seriously trying to keep him from doing this. It grossed me out.

We went on a hike up Little Cottonwood Canyon called Lisa's Falls. This was the end of the hike. Jace loved playing in the water and got all wet. My dad had fun pitching rocks while Sheldon and I took turns hitting them with a huge stick Sheldon found.

There was lots of granite rock up there and we found out when we visited temple square that the saints would move huge rocks from the canyons all the way back to the temple grounds when they were building the temple.
We went swimming a lot at our hotel. On Monday Heidi and her family came and joined us for some swimming fun. Jace loved the pool and especially loved the patio outside. We spent lots of time out there.

We toured temple square. We went into the Joseph Smith Building, the visitor centers, and the tabernacle. We also ate lunch at the Lion House. Yum!!

All Jace wanted to do in the visitor center was play with the poles that rope off the walkways. He wasn't very interested in the exhibits. :)

I was excited to show Jace where his mom and dad got married. This was his first time to temple square. Below is a picture of Jace in front of a picture of President Monson. The prophet of our church and also the prophet when Jace was born.

Sheldon couldn't join us at temple square because his brother Mathew got married on Saturday. My parents had already planned the trip and reserved airfare and the hotel before the wedding was planned so Jace and I didn't go to the wedding. We were sad we missed it. The last day of the weekend we went and saw where Sheldon is working during this rotation. He only has about nine more weeks left. It's going by really fast.
It was sad to say goodbye to my mom and dad. Jace LOVED being with his grandparents and we felt really spoiled all weekend. We got to eat at the Lion House, Paradise Bakery, Olive Garden, and Training Table and we also stayed at a 4 star hotel. Thanks mom and dad for planning such a fun weekend and spoiling us like crazy!
We spent the next few days exploring Salt Lake. We headed back over to the Tracy Aviary with my parents so we could watch the bird show. Jace LOVED it and was so excited to point out all the birds he saw. He also had fun chasing a peacock around for about twenty minutes. He never did catch it.
