Sheldon's Family in Havasu

Sheldon's brother and sister and their families made the 8 hour drive from Orem, Utah to Lake Havasu to come and visit us for a few days during their spring break. We had fun swimming, sightseeing, holding our new nephew Calvin, and celebrating Hagen's 5th birthday.
Our new rental house has a pool and the kids couldn't stay away from the water. Jace wasn't so sure he wanted to get in since the water was so cold.

We went to a town called Oatman on Historic Route 66. It is an old mining town with wild donkeys roaming the street. They also have shows with fake gun fights every couple of hours.

Jace was very attached to his Uncle Lance and wanted Lance to hold him a lot. Maybe because he looks a lot like his daddy.
Jace wasn't so sure about the donkeys at first but after a while he got used to them and even pet one. He would not let them eat out of his hands though and would just throw the carrots at the donkeys instead.

We went and saw Parker Dam, the tallest dam in the world, but you just can't see it because it's under water. :)
We also toured the London Bridge and had fun seeing Lake Havasu. We even had a picnic at the lake one day (no pics though.)

Here's Jace with his cousins. Just baby Calvin isn't pictured. Thanks for coming Heidi and Lance. We had a lot of fun!!!

22 Months

I can't believe Jace is only two months away from being a two year old!! Here are some of my favorite pictures I took of him the past month. Jace has developed an extreme dislike for getting dressed so a lot of the pictures I took he is in his diaper. He cries and kicks his feet when we try to put clothes on him. He has become a very strong willed little boy and when he has his mind made up about something he gets very upset when he doesn't get his way and will make the cutest sad face and big crocodile tears. It's hard to say no to that. He has started trying on our shoes and walking around the house in them. He has also learned how to jump and will say "jump" just before he jumps. He LOVES playing outside and any activity related to water. He also loves his cars and trucks. He's started taking other types of toys and pretending they are cars and he has started lining up toys and pretending it's a cho cho train. He also started to pretend to eat and pretend to sleep. He says "Night night" and closes his eyes for a few seconds and then screams and laughs when he opens his eyes. He loves his two blankets and sucks on the ends. They both have holes in them and the corners are discolored because he sucks on them. I tried to give him two replacement blankets that looked very similar but he saw through me and asked for his blankies over and over until I gave them back to him. He has learned lots of new words and it seems like he is learning new words daily. He just recently learned the words pizza and bee. He calls any flying bug a bee. The other day he put his boots on all by himself. What a big boy!!! We sure love him.

Look closely and you can see all the bubbles on his chest. He has a bubble gun and likes it when we spray him with bubbles.

He loves the park and playing on the play structures.

He keeps moving the chair over to sink in hopes of playing in the water.

He always wants to ride on his dog. It's a good think Lucky is so good with kids.
Here's Jace's new favorite spot to relax and drink his milk. I call it his bed and he runs and lays down when he knows a sippy cup with milk is coming his way. He's still sleeping in the pack n' play and we call that his crib.

Disneyland & Boards

Sheldon had to take one of his board exams in California a few weeks ago so I immediately started scheming a Disneyland visit to go along with the trip. My parents came with us for two days at Disneyland and Natalie and her two kids came for one day. We all stayed at the Hilton and had fun in the hotel and enjoyed the pool. On the third day Sheldon had to go and take his exam and I went with my family to Newport Beach for the day. It was a fun quick trip to California and a good excuse to go to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Jace wanted lots of popcorn. My parents bought him some along with lots of other yummy treats.

Jace is 36 inches tall so he could ride a lot of the kiddie rides. I guess it pays to be tall when you go to Disneyland. He loved the bumper cars and we even took him on a mini roller coaster but I think that he was a little scared and so we didn't take him on it again.

He loved the Mickey Mouse Playhouse show. He saw the show two times.
He loves trying on Grandpa's hat.
Jace had a lot of fun in Toon Town and we stayed there for quite a while.
When we started walking towards the entrance to Disneyland on the second day Jace got really excited.
He loved the sucker his grandma bought him.
Sugar crash...

Cotton candy and slushies...what more could the grandkids ask for. My parents watched the kids so we could go on some of the big rides.
Jace loves Cars and luckily we got to take pictures with them. He didn't want to leave after his turn was over.
We rode lots of kiddie rides and here we are on the Monsters Inc. ride.

Thanks mom and dad and Natalie for going along with my Disneyland plans!!! We had a blast and I am so glad Sheldon's test is OVER.
