Happy Easter
This year we were able to celebrate Easter with my parents. They came for spring break and to start off our time together we had an Easter party. My parents gave Jace two new toys that he really loves playing with. He got a ball popper and a little car that he can push around or sit on and push with his legs. He's still trying to figure out both toys and how they work. We gave Jace a basket full of empty Easter eggs, some new shoes and socks, and a new Sunday outfit. We figured he would probably like to play with the empty eggs since he can't eat candy yet. We had a nice Easter dinner together and had fun watching Jace play with his toys. We enjoyed our Easter Sunday and thinking about how grateful we are for our Savior and our eternal family!

Jace's First Hair Cut
Before
After
Sheldon cut Jace's hair for the first time. We figured it was time since Jace had a comb over and it was getting a little long! We saved one of his little curly locks to put in his memory box. He wasn't too happy about the haircut but held pretty still with me holding his head and Sheldon cutting his hair. Sheldon did great and was a proud dad after he finished the job!
My 29th B-day
For my 29th birthday we went out to eat at Red Robin, went to the Oregon Zoo, and then had cake and opened presents. It was so fun to be able to spend time together as a family since Sheldon's board exams were over. I asked Sheldon to get me a Shark Steam Mop and that is exactly what I got. I love mopping my floors now especially because I can do it so fast! It only take me about 10 minutes to mop all the floors in my entire house. That is an awesome present especially because we have to keep our house so clean with it being on the market. It was fun to be able to celebrate my birthday for the first time with our little Jace. He got a little worn out after the restaurant and the zoo. It was a wonderful birthday! I feel so grateful for the past 29 years and what a wonderful life I've been able to live.
Fun Days
Jace and I have been going on lots of walks together. Here he is in his special sweater that was from his Great Grandma Anderson. Jace was born very soon after his great grandma passed away but we found this in her drawer ready to be given to her next grandson. I was excited for Jace to be able to have it so that we could remember his Great Grandma. I think she would be happy that Jace is wearing it and is smiling down at him.

Jace loves hanging out in the kitchen and following me wherever I go.
He also loves silverware and seems to enjoy playing with it more than his "real" toys.
Here's Lucky hiding out trying not to get his tail pulled. I think Lucky needs a break sometimes from a very persistent baby who won't leave him alone. Jace cries when Lucky runs away and then after a few minutes Jace is ready to try again.
At the Pool...
Jace and I were able to go to the pool twice a week for a month and a half for a parent and baby swim class. Jace LOVED it. He loved watching the other babies and all the songs we sang and fun games we played. He especially loved standing up on the side of the pool and having me count 1.2.3 and then I would lower him in the water. He enjoyed splashing and playing with all the fun toys. After the class was over I decided we had to keep going back. I found out they offer preschool swim time for kids and their parents during the day. Best of all we are able to go for free because Sheldon is a university student! We've been back lots and have enjoyed just spending time in the pool. It's one of our favorite things to do together!

9 Month Old Jace
Jace has been nine months old now for two weeks! I seriously can't believe in 3 months we will have a 1 year old. The time has flown by. Jace has changed so much in the last month. He is CRAWLING all over the place and is discovering all the cool things about our house like the door stoppers attached to our walls that make neat noises when he hits them and Lucky's dog dish. The other day I left Jace playing in his room while I was doing some house work. I went back into his room and he wasn't there. I looked in the laundry room and he was inches away from Lucky's dog bowl with the biggest smile on his face. When I picked him up he started crying and throwing a fit because I really had ruined to him what would be the perfect most fun thing to play with. He has started throwing fits when he doesn't get what he wants and I think it is so funny he is so particular and stubborn about doing what HE wants to do. At his nine month check-up our pediatrician told us to cut down on the formula and offer Jace more baby foods and table foods. Jace didn't take to it very well because he loves his bottle so cutting down his bottles to only 24 ounces did not make him very happy. After a few days he got used to the idea and has been downing table food and baby food. He will eat pretty much anything we eat just cut up and in tiny pieces. I made lasagna the other day and that has been a favorite for him. He pretty much went crazy and just started shoving food in his mouth as quickly as he could. He really loves tomatoes and tomato sauce and the other day he ate two cut up slices of tomatoes! We've been doing some fun stuff together while Sheldon was busy studying for his board exams. We have been to the pool a lot, the zoo, Zane's playroom at the university, and to the library. We've also been going on walks everyday much to Jace and Lucky's delight. I found out about baby story time at the library so we are going to start doing that soon too. All in all it's been a great month watching Jace grow and become mobile. We've had so much fun together and I am so grateful for my little son who I get to spend my days with. Motherhood is an adventure I am so happy I get to be part of!!
Here's an online proof of pictures we just got taken of Jace in his Sunday Easter outfit. This was my favorite one. I'll post the real ones when I get them and they should be better quality.
Jace loves playing in the kitchen with all the kitchen utensils and pots and pans. He is especially happy when they make loud noises when banged together. I also think he loves them because he chews on the soft handles to help relieve his teething pain. So far he has his front two bottom teeth and one front top tooth. Two more on the top are starting to come through and I can see them through his swollen gums. Poor kid! He loves it when I open the dishwasher and crawls over to it very happily because he loves pushing the buttons and playing with all the cool things a dishwasher has on it like the part where the soap goes that opens and closes.
We find Jace in lots of funny sleeping positions. He loves his crib and his special blankie that his birth mom picked out for him!!
Here he is eating his favorite meal-lasagna!
Here is Jace in his car seat. We finally gave into the convertible car seat so Sheldon had to get this out of the attic for me for the picture. Jace weighed 24 pounds and was 30 inches long at his nine month check-up-way to big for an infant car seat!!

Jace is crawling!
Jace started crawling last week and has really become very mobile. It's been fun to watch him crawl around the house and discover new things. He is everywhere now! He loves to crawl over to the sliding glass door and stare outside. Another one of his favorite things is to crawl over to Lucky and pull his tail. He LOVES it and laughs really hard when he finally gets a good tug! Lucky hides under the table for a little relief now and then from constantly being followed and pulled on by Jace.

Our House

Our house is finally on the market and ready to be sold! Here are the pictures from our listing. We worked really hard on the house to get it all ready for showings and took down all of our pictures and decorations. We have been very happy living here the last three years! We are getting excited for Sheldon's rotations and all the different places we are going to move next year.

Portland Zoo
I'm really excited because Sheldon and I bought a year zoo pass at the Portland Zoo. I am planning on taking Jace there often so that we can get out of the house and enjoy being outside now that the rainy season is over. We went together as a family and had a lot of fun. Jace's favorite things at the zoo were the drum set and eating grass! Oh well! Us adults had fun looking at the animals. I'm sure as Jace grows he will start to notice the animals more!
