In the morning Jace and I went to the zoo again. This time we got to see the orangutans up close. I like going really early in the morning when it just opens because it's less crowded and the animals are more interactive.

In the morning Jace and I went to Waikiki Beach (forgot my camera) and in the evening we went over to the spray fountain. Jace LOVES the spray fountain and it's a fun place to just sit and relax outside while Jace has some fun.

We headed to Chuck E. Cheese to spend the rest of our tokens left over from our last visit. Jace had fun pointing to the cars and the motorcycle now that he knows the names for them.

Here's Jace exiting the elevator in our building. He knows all about elevators now and knows when to go in and out and when he should push the button (occasionally he sneaks a push when he knows he shouldn't touch the buttons). :)

Jace and I went to Waikiki Beach and when Sheldon got home from work he met us there for a picnic dinner.

In the morning Jace and I met up with Karen and her son at the Hilton Lagoon. Jace loves looking at all the fish in the Lagoon. When Sheldon got home from work we went to a carnival in Honolulu and then went for a drive up Round Top Drive for a view of Honolulu at night. We had a fun day.

We met up with my parent's friends for lunch in Kanehoe at the Winward Mall. After lunch we headed to 808 Bounce. It's an area of the mall that has tons of different bounce houses and it's pretty inexpensive. We went before in Aiea so Jace was VERY excited to go again. He ran around like a crazy child and afterwards was very sweaty and tired. Afterwards we headed over to Lanikai Beach for some relaxation. We also checked out of our studio in Waikiki and we are staying in a hotel for a week while Sheldon finishes his last week of work.

Jace loved checking out all the new stuff in the hotel room and had a lot of fun playing on balcony. This time we are only on the ninth floor so we aren't as high up as we used to be. Sheldon also decided it was time to give Jace a hair cut and surprisingly Jace held really still and was very interested in the hair clippers and all of the guards. We also had fun watching the Super Bowl. Go Packers!!




Only one more week in paradise. :(

In the morning Jace and I went one last time to the Waikiki Aquarium. I don't think we'll be going back before we leave. We enjoyed watching the Monk Seals and Jace had a blast running around looking at all the fish. He says "fish" so cute. He adds a long shhhhh on the end. He also got to touch a hermit crab in the touch tank. He LOVED it. In the afternoon I met up with a new friend and her son at the Hilton Lagoon to enjoy some swimming and of course looking at the penguins, turtles, Koi fish, flamingos, and ducks. That is one of our favorite places to go during the day and I was happy to show my new friend, Karen, all about it. She is here temporarily too and her son is two so I was excited when she moved into the ward. Another cool thing is that their son is also adopted so it's fun to get to talk to someone with similar circumstances. To bad I just met her and we are leaving in a few weeks.
Jace just learned how to jump on the bed and I wish I was able to get a picture of him actually jumping. I guess my camera is just too slow for his quick moves. He laughs when he falls...pretty cute!!

In the afternoon Jace and I went to the Hilton again for a repeat of the same day except this time he threw up three times on our walk home and that was the start of a sick week for Jace with lots of throw up, crankiness, and a tired out mom. Hence...our lack of pictures and activities this week. I'm just glad we made it through the week and Jace is feeling much better now. :)

Sheldon had a long break during his day at work so he came home and that meant I was able to go off and run one of my long runs for the week. I'm up to nine miles now so I don't really like taking Jace in the jogging stroller since it takes me awhile to finish. Besides that we didn't really get out and do anything since Jace was still feeling sick, except rent some movies. I did however snap these pictures of Jace after he decided he wasn't ready to be done with bath time so before Sheldon and I could notice, he went back into the tub clothes and all. I was just glad he was happy and so we just let him stay in there for a little while.

I was determined to get out of the house so Jace and I headed to the zoo for the morning. He was feeling better but still had pretty low energy. Jace wanted to sit in the stroller a lot and that is not like him at all. We still had fun though and I was also excited because Sheldon called around 11am that morning and said he was getting to come home early again. So we headed to Costco for some shopping and then after nap time we went to Wiamanalo Bay for some beach fun and a pizza picnic. I forgot my camera when we went to the beach. :(
Jace really likes the play structure at the zoo. He loves running on the bridge.

When Sheldon got home from work we headed to Waikiki Beach. Every Friday night they show a movie on their big screen on the beach and it's free. We just found out about it so I was bummed we didn't get to go more. They were showing the Blind Side and we sat on the beach watching the movie and about halfway through the movie the fireworks went off at the Hilton that we could see in the distance. The Pro Bowl was in Oahu this weekend so Waikiki was packed.
Jace loves playing in the sink. He begs to do this and when I do cave in he makes a big mess. At least he's happy and not cranky though.

After running, naps, and lunch we went out on another adventure. This time we decided to check out the Waikele Outlets. Jace had the most fun running from toy car to toy car. It's a good thing he doesn't know about the quarter part of it yet. We would be broke. After the outlets we went to Ko'olina and went swimming in one of the man made lagoons. We had so much fun there. They have about six big resorts and all of them face the four lagoons. They have limited public access parking so we were glad we found a parking spot. After we swam we went and checked out all the other lagoons. Then we went for a dip in the Marriott pool and no one said a word to us about not being guests. If we ever come back to Oahu I want to stay there. It was amazing.
Here's Jace in the morning enjoying our lanai. It's too high up for me to relax about him being out there though.



Jace wears his backpack when we go to the beach. It has all his toys in it and he wants to take it everywhere we go.


Jace likes his inflatable turtle but will only sit in it for a about five minutes. It's fun just floating in the water and enjoying the sunshine. It's a ton more sunnier on the west side of Oahu.

Some of our friends from our ward invited us to a potluck turkey dinner. It was a fun way to spend our day. We didn't think Jace was up for any road trips since he was still recovering from being sick so we just spent time together as a family at the park by our old apartment. If we stay in our little studio too long Jace gets super cranky so for all of our sanity we decided the park was a good idea.
