2 Weeks

Jace is two weeks old! He just had a doctor's appointment and he weighs 8 pounds 1 ounce! He's holding his head up more and loves to grasp my hands when I feed him. He's such a good baby and everyday I have a-is this real-moment. I feel so blessed to be his mother and Sheldon to be Jace's father. I'm excited to celebrate Sheldon this father's day. He is already such a great dad!

Jace's First Week Home!

Jace is a sound sleeper and great eater! He is just always so sweet. I love cuddling with him. We are still working on getting the nursery all put together. Here's the tired momma! I'm getting used to sleeping less!

Jace is super healthy! He did great at his first doctor's appointment! I was so proud!!!

Welcome Home Baby Jace!

We were able to take Jace home from the hospital on Sunday night. I was so excited and anxious to get this little guy home! He is such a sweet baby. I just love holding him and loving him. Sheldon and I can't stop staring at him and I am in awe of what a miracle he is. We love you Jace!

Goodbye Grandma

My grandma passed away last week and luckily I was able to go to Las Vegas for the funeral. She was an amazing woman and lived a very Christ-like life. She raised my mother to be a remarkable person. My grandma had eight children and one stillborn baby. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for me. I loved going to her house to see what was in the cookie jar and play a fun card game. I was so blessed to have her be a part of my life. I felt mostly peace when thinking of my grandma passing away because now she is finally with my grandpa again and three of her children that have also passed away. She lived to be 88! Her funeral was definitely a celebration of her life and I am so glad I was able to say goodbye to her. Everyone wore pink because that was her favorite color. I love you grandma!

We're going to be parents!

Hi everyone! We have been chosen to adopt a baby boy due June 8th. We are so thrilled and excited. Our prayers have been answered and the sweetest, most self-less birth mother is giving us this opportunity. We are so ready to be parents and have this life changing event happen. We are so blessed!

White Coat Ceremony Class of 2011

Sheldon is officially half way done with his optometry school. He is now able to work in the clinic with real patients! His class took part in a White Coat Ceremony where they took an oath pledging to provide quality patient care. I was really proud of Sheldon! He already had his first patient in the clinic on Thursday! Sheldon is going to be a great eye doctor! I am so excited for his future profession!

Sheldon thought it would be fun to get the limo from the Proctor's in our ward and take out some of our opt friends after the ceremony. We went to Outback and we didn't get home until around 11. That was a late school night for me (I fell asleep on the way home).

One other note-I was doing the laundry today and when I pulled the clothes out of the dryer a contact lens case fell out of the clothes pile onto the floor. I was laughing because I thought that would probably only happen to a wife of an optometry student.
Here's my future eye doctor. I love you! All of his classmates received a white coat to wear in the clinic. It's embroidered and says his name.
